ABOUT MANFRED KARGE |

MANFRED KARGE is a well-known German actor, director and playwright. He was born on 1 March, 1938 in Brandenburg, Germany. After graduating from University, Karge worked first at the Berliner Ensemble, then at the Volksbühne, Berlin, both acting and directing with well-known director, Matthias Langhoff. In addition to his work as a director of classic and contemporary work by writers such as Brecht, Kleist and Brasch, Manfred Karge has written MAN TO MAN (1982), CLAIRE, a musical, (1985), THE CONQUEST OF THE SOUTH POLE (1986) and LIEBER NIEMBSCH (1988). In 1992, MAN TO MAN was made into a film starring well known Scottish actress TILDA SWINTON. The film was directed by John Maybury. |
